(Notes of 23/07/10) Tasted by a half-pint at the Brew Wharf, served by a non-sparkler hand-pull.
A: dark amber hue, slight haze, fluffy head, low carbonation.
S: Amarillo-like floral hops + longan fruits dominate the nose, semi-sweet, like an AIPA; not very complex yet refreshingly aromatic, at times giving light notes of stinky old wood as well.
T: juicy malts + fragrant hop juice constitute the main theme on the palate, followed by earthy edge of hops, bitter pines, a touch of phenol and rather chewy, tannic hop bitterness, turning semi-dry in the end. More undertones of dried herbs also linger well.
M&D: super-light for 6.1%abv., this AIPA is full of US hop feature in a rather understated way; being softly-carbonated and quite clean on the palate, this is a surprisingly easy-drinking IPA to me.
