500ml, bottle-conditioned. Pours clear gold with thick, lasting white head. Aroma is citric hop and biscuit malt. Flavour is pleasant English hops, medium bitterness. Some sweetness with a dry finish. Overall: a good English bitter.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of May 2013. Purchased a while back from Booths. Using totty to sell beer - how original...
Poured into a tulip pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A bright golden-amber hue with some fine sediment and medium carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Aroma of light, grainy malt with hints of earthy yeast, stewed hops and faint citrus. A twinge of harsh cardboard in the background.
Tastes of light caramel malt with a subtle hoppiness and a dry finish. Notes of grain, mild citrus, grass, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, with a restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and decent body for the style. Somewhat astringent, with an aftertaste of delicate aromatic hops, stewed leaves and earthy yeast.
Not bad - a quaffable brew from Wye Valley. Looks alright, and the aroma/flavour have a subtle yet satisfying hoppiness. Body is OK. Nicely balanced - it won't blow your socks off but it's a perfectly drinkable pale ale. Would go down nicely on a hot day; worth sampling if you come across it.

Pours clear golden/amber with white creamy and dense one finger head with excellent retention, patchy lacing. Aroma is malt and grain with grassy hops and notes of citrus.
Taste is malt, notes of straw, herbal hops, dry finish and distinct long lasting bittery aftertaste with faint citrus notes. Mouthfeel is light, moderate carbonation.
Overall, a very pleasant and quaffable ale.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before 22 Nov 2008, drank 24 July 2008.
Almost lager looking, a very light amber/dull yellow with a big white head, no sediment left the base of the bottle, so the beer was clear.
Overal I was disappointed with this brew, very little aroma, taste or body. The Goldings and Fuggles Hops used and the Maris Otter Pale Malt failed to impart any great depth of character or flavours and it was a 'nothing beer' to me. This is a great shame, because this is the first beer from Wye Valley that I have reviewed on this site and I generally like their beers.

BBF 24-11-05...
Appearance: light brown, nice creamy layer of foam, gives great head... retention, lace
Aroma: light pineapply fruitiness, hint of caramel, touch of grainy malt, wispy hints of floral hops, very delicate
Flavor: dryish malt backbone, citrusy hop flavor, hint of multi-vitamins, perfume, finishes dry with a vegetal bitterness in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: medium body, fine carbonation, crisp texture
Other Comments: This is the first "official" Real-Ale-In-A-Bottle that I've had. It's definitely much fresher tasting than pasteurized English ales, but I just didn't like the beer that much. She's real pretty and sweet-smelling, though!

Very cloudy, golden orange with a short sticky head that retains very well. Slight hint of citrus in both smell and taste. There is a picture of Dorothy Goodbody on the bottle. She looks very much like Marilyn Monroe. This is an excellent beer! Recommended!!!
