Pours orange with an opaque translucency. Head is two fingers of white foam. Aroma is dank, resin, herbal hops, with spicy yeast, and doughy malts coming thru later. It's sharp. Flavor profile again favors dank, resin, herbal, and this time - light medicinal hops. Spicy yeast comes thru the second half alongside doughy and bready malts. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a fuzzy velvet texture. Overall, a dank velvet bomb. It's like smoking 420 in a velvet blazer.

Trial and error is the name of the game when it comes to beers where their science is less understood. So, exotic hops and "mystery" fruit play a big part in Golden City's Firefly New England styled IPA.
Reasonably hazy for the style, the gently turbid looking Firefly crowns with a creamy, ivory froth. Its fruity forward perfume is citronella laden with peps of tropical and orchard fruit. An herbal medley follows as the first sip looms with pastry maltiness, light honey and shortcake.
As the hops unfold, they over shine the lingering malt sweetness with papaya, mango, grapefruit, orange and melon for a fruit filled medley of citrus, tropical and a juicy, fruit punch array. Trending moderately bitter, herbal, and lightly resinous, a peppery bite comes with the gentle suggestions of chive, fresh grass clippings and tropical fruit rinds.
Medium bodied and drier than most hazy IPA, the semi-crisp, semi-clean nature of the beer increases its drinkability and refreshment but limits its "juicy" or branch ripe vividity. A finish of tart yuzu and lime tightens its grip with a somewhat margarita finish and medium long aftertaste.
