VINTAGE: 2014 (Centennial, Cascade)
SERVICE: Bottle
BOTTLED ON: October is all I can get from the code (so 2-14 days old)

A:
Pours a hazy golden straw with a very nice three fingers of white head that slowly settles to one over a minute or so. Very good retention; speckled lacing. (4)

S:
Fruity and resinous. Sap, citrus rind, wood, pineapple, pine boughs, lacquer, touch of vegetable odor. (3.25)

T:
Somewhat bracing with a herbal finish. Bread, touch of vegetable flavor (?!), cirtus rind, green. (3.25)

M:
Nice carbonation, a tad bit thin, lingering resinous finish. (3.25)

O:
Decent beer.
Definitely better than some of the other ratings would have you believe, but not outstanding either.
I could definitely see it becoming almost undrinkable with a little age on it. It is a nice idea, and the hops do come through, but for a beer like this to truly stand out from something with 'ordinary' hops (IMO) it should probably be coming from someone already brewing dynamite IPAs and the like. But that's just me...
Pours very nice with a big creamy head. It smells okay and is pretty fruity right off the bat but gets a little hotter and less hoppy as it warms. It tastes all right as far as that goes, but is not the hop showcase that one would expect for a beer that is in theory made specifically for that purpose.
Wouldn't turn down if offered and fresh; worth a shot if found and fresh.
At the very least I see this beer as a sign of good things to come in QC in the future. (3.25)

This 750 ml bottle picked up in Montreal "on sale" is actually better than I expected. Pours a hazy golden, light brown with a large bubbled & off-white head that leaves an impressive amount of lacing. Aroma has fresh hops, with a medicinal background that I've found in other wet/fresh hop or harvest beers. More resinous than I'd personally choose, but think it's appropriate for the style. The flavour has the bitterness and tang I associate with "c" hops, although I wouldn't have been able to call out Centennial without the label. None of the citrus or tropical fruit tones which often accompany those hops and a rather abrupt transition from thin caramelized malt to pure bitterness.

A beer I'm glad to have tried, but also glad I didn't buy a case.

Bottle: Poured a dirty hazy beige color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of light grainy notes with faint hops. Taste is a huge letdown with faint aroma of hops with some light unrefined grainy notes and a watery finish. Body is quite full with great carbonation. Huge letdown with almost no fresh hops notes.
