500ml bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy gold with a fluffy white head that lasts for a while. Brilliant lacing. Slightly sweet, grainy malt. Plenty of grassy hop character. The hops are prominent in the taste as well, giving it a slight, refreshing bitterness. More grass/hay. Full, light maltiness. This is an outstanding lager. I've had this quite a few times, both in bottles and on cask. Franconia does it best, for sure.

Out of gravity fed wooden keg at Max's.
The beer pours a striking gold color with pretty good head retention and minimal lacing. Don't get a whole lot on the nose, just some light sweet malt. It smells pretty simple, albeit attractive. Taste is really the weakest element of this beer, as I get some moderate sweet malt flavor, with just a hint of bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is fairly light and smooth, but thankfully not at all watery. Drinkability is pretty good, and ultimately I thought this a fairly solid beer. Unfortuantely, there were quite a few good German beers to be had at Max's German festival, and I can't really say this was one of the better ones.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
