Very good beer, not too strong, tasty and well hopped. A good bitter at a nice price. I always buy in cans. This beer seems now to be better than at the time of the first ratings...

L = clear reddish amber, good froth, retention, lacing
S = faint malts, grainy, sweetish, faintly spicy, fresh, exceptional for its type
T = mild forward, little middle but great bitter aftertaste. Light fruitiness. Well balanced
F = medium body, good carbonation
O = not complex, but recommended
A great value as usual from this 'discount' brewer

Bottle:

Poured a clear reddish amber ale in the glass with a massive frothy cap...great retention and phenomenal glass lacing

Aroma: grainy, sweetness, light spiciness...not bad at all...very fresh...contrary to the ratings this beer gets this is one of the best looking and smelling so-called "red" ales I have sampled.

Taste: Ahh here’s the let down...grainy, spicey hops but thin on both and really too spritzy..crisp tart finish comes too soon, even though it is lightly bittered, with no middle to this beer.

Weak body, thin mouth feel..a let down after the looks and smell of this ale.

Bought a single bottle at a dépanneur in Montreal.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy red colour with a massive foamy bone white head. Leaves some lace. Retention is good.

Aroma: Faint malts, sweetness and a definate herbal punch in there as well, maybe some coriander and a bit of floral hops.

Taste: Sweet malt forward and a slight medicinal bitter tang of hops in the finish. Some caramel. A bit of tongue numbing in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Quite nice, light to medium bodied, medium carbonation.

Final Statement: I opened 3 beers tonight and this one I think I'll actually finish. It's a quaffable red ale with very few complexities. I won't seek out again, but I'll finish this.

Bottle: Poured a light clear brown color ale with a small bubbly head with minimal retention. Aroma of malt is a bit weak and does not include any complexity. Taste is also pretty boring with some semi-sweet malt and no hops. Body is slightly watery with some medium carbonation. This beer is definitely a bit boring with a definite lack of hops; on the good side at least there is no adjunct and it seems to be 100% pure malt.
