Summer Ale was brewed with long Aussie summers in mind, but can be enjoyed all year round.
This hot-weather favourite is loaded with fruity, crisp characters, and has minimal bitterness. The hop aromas of melon and passionfruit add a pleasant floral character, and complement the subtle fruitiness on the front-palate. The finish is crisp, dry, and as refreshing than diving straight into the pool on a hot day.

I purchased this one at Chas Cole Cellarbrations in Geelong in May 2025 and drank it in August of that year.
L: Hazy tropical gold colour, with a cm-high, bright-white head. I can't see any bubbles, even when holding the beer up to the light.
S: Tropical fruit, passionfruit and guava notes stand out, but it's all a little muted.
T: There's a general tropicalish vibe to this one, but also a soda-water-like finish that washes away the fruit notes as quickly as they arrive. This would be fine on a hot day when you want to slam the beer down for some hydration, but otherwise is not what I'm looking for in a summer beer.
M: Carbonation is medium, but carbonic bite is high, which means the previous point about slamming the beer on a hot day becomes invalid, as it's too punchy to drink quickly. The body is perhaps a touch thin.
O: This unfortunately has all the hallmarks of a macro summer beer, even from a formerly cutting-edge independent craft brewery. It seems that the flavour has been muted and become a little watery, to not offend the everyday crowd, but the beer pays for that by being unremarkable in most ways and below average in body and taste.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
