On-tap at Bar Hop. Served in a snifter.
A - White foam settles to a near-complete cap, thick collar, and plenty of lacing. Transparent golden amber body that is a tad dark for the 'style'.
S - Sweet and sugary; I thought that there might be a bit of crystal malt in here, but apparently it's "Organic Cane Sugar". Some vague tropical sweetness, and perhaps a nebulous floral hop quality. Not much alcohol.
T - Taste is similarly successful, and avoids the cloying sweetness and/or fusel alcohol that plagues most malt liquors. A mix of caramel, cotton candy, bread, and some mild bitterness.
M - Medium-full body, soft, chewy texture, pleasant carbonation. A faint hint of alcohol heat, but nothing untoward for 8.1%.
D - A top 5 malt liquor tick, and one of the best beers I've had from Beau's. Shockingly good for the style. Might actually order this again if it's still on-tap on Friday at Bar Hop.
