500ml brown bottle, sample from the brewery. Deep brown hue, ruby highlights with a spectacular looking head. Smells of dark toasted malts, spice, exotic fruit, wild flowers, chicory, & brown bread. Very smooth with a semi-chewy medium body. Hint of burnt malt give way to a more dark toasted biscuit character. Ample hopping with spice, evergreen, melon rind, & tropical fruit. Very much to style, a real treat.

Bottle: Poured a clear black color ale with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some light citrusy hops notes is OK. Taste is a mix of some roasted malt notes with grassy citrusy hops notes and light bitter aftertaste. Body is light with good carbonation. Not bad but doesn’t really stands out for the style.

Pours black black with a monster big head. Settles to a partial film and gives lots of lace. A handsome beer.
Yup. Black cherries on the nose and a whiff of alcohol. Some earthiness and pine resin. Quite aromatic. Bitter and hoppy to taste. Plenty of charcoal. Very long lasting bitterness. Very muscular hops. Grapefruit to finish.
Hops, hops, lots of hops. In the end, just a little too much bitterness for me.

Look: Very dark, almost pitch black pour. Had a massive 2 and a half finger head, though I did pour it fairly aggressively. sediment lazily floats in the glass. Nice lacing as well.
Smell: Just delightful. Sweet, dark fruits. First thing that comes to mind is cherries, then possibly apples. Some citrusy presence as well, notably grapefruit and pineapple.
Taste: This one is interesting, and the flavour has incredible linger power. First, I get sweet notes of orange, and a tiny bit of cherry, though less than I was expecting based on the smell. The finish is extremely long and extremely dry. Strait up grapefruit on the back end of this one. It is also a touch boozy once it warms a bit.
Feel: medium-heavy body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Like others from Beau's, this one is pretty complex. Lots of different flavours such as cherry, pineapple, orange, and heavy grapefruit on the back end. Very bitter on the back end. This one is another winner, and Beaus is quickly becoming one of my favourite local (ish) breweries.

Jet black pour, with slightly brown edges. Off-white head, with a decidedly creamy mouthfeel. Lots of pine immediately greet the nose. Pine on the tongue, but bitter citrus lurking in the background too. Even getting some chocolate on the swallow. Beau's surprised me with this one, as I was expecting a much more muted beer from them, but this Black IPA is very vibrant and lively.
