Collaboration with Crannóg Ales
Blackstrap Bootstrapper is a 5.8% abv molasses porter created in collaboration with Crannóg Ales, the pioneering organic brewery in Sorrento, BC opened by Brian MacIsaac and Rebecca Kneen in 2000. Brewed using fair trade organic blackstrap molasses and Challenger hops from Crannóg’s Left Fields Farm, the beer is described as follows:
The porter pours nearly opaque brown-black with ruby undertones, and a thick tan foam. Aromas of mocha, molasses and plum are evident. The flavours are a balanced combination of roasted malts and dried fruit. The finish is dry and gently warm.

Poured from a 600ml bottle. Batch #6032 bottled on 03/28/17. A portion of sales goes to Mine Watch, that i do not like.
A: Pours a very dark brown but you still can see through it with a thin tan head and some lacing.
S: Toffee molasses nose.
T: A nice molasses candied toffee at first but then a strong dry tannin feel that is strange kind of like a strong red wine tannin effect.
F: Low carbonation a bit sweet. And that tannin feel .
O: No way is it as good as The Back Hand of God i think that says it all. Its an ok porter but so many better ones around.
