Beautiful dark chestnut color with a modest wisp of foam. Not very lively with carbonation, though there is a sufficient tickle on the tongue. Aroma is a little appley with butterscotch and spent brewing grain.
I would find it hard to describe this as any kind of Bockbier, as it's so remarkably grainy. Dark roasted barley with rough edges sticking out. It's kind of sweet. Buttery is the other sensation. Like buttered buckwheat, scorched a little on the bottom.
It's not really very bitter, it's just that burned oatmeal flavor that doesn't help it any. From the 600 ml bottle, a useful size I haven't encountered before that's a short 22 oz, purchased at Expérience Bière in Montréal. Handsome label with the goats, too.

This is a weird one. Doesn’t really taste like a bock. Very hop forward and a bone dry finish.

Draft
Deep reddy brown. Substantial head that kicks around a bit and laces up the innards of the glass
Negligible smokiness on the nose. Light malt notes. Light aroma overall.
Minimal smokiness. Sweet.
Thin and underwhelming.
A miss for me, but it did improve slightly as it warmed.
