On cask (?) at the Beau's tap takeover at Volo. A quad on cask you say? Didn't think I'd ever see that. Into a plastic cup.
Pours a purple/burgundy with a light brown head. Mild retention and lacing. Nose has some dark fruits, prunes and plums with some candied notes as well. Lightly sugary, and only a moderate sweetness taken together. Quite pleasant. Taste has some more candied and caramelized fruit notes, some plums and figs but are almost indistingusihable - a variety of dark stone fruits comprise this. Sweet and moderately drying in the finish. A simple quad but still substantially tasty. Warming, but not alcoholic by any stretch. Possibly my highlight of the evening (especially considering the serving vessel), I'd love to see Beau's revisit this.
