They had just tapped Old Glory at RB Lombard. It was one of 7 or 8 Brewer’s Specials that they offer on top of the 6 or so standards.
It was served Imperial pint style glass (not sure if it was a 20oz or was actually 16oz). The beer is a chill hazed dark copper with a very sticky beige head.
I liked the aroma of cascades and caramel malts. It is classic and fresh.
Taste is on the bitter side for an APA. IMO 75 ibus pushes this into IPA territory. Regardless, it is tasty with citrus notes and slightly sweet malts. A bit of alcohol heat in the finish is an intrusion.
It has a slick, chewy and coating mouth.
I think this is really more of an IPA but the brewer can label it as he wants. I liked it and it went well with by BBQ/Bacon Chicken sandwich.
