Had this the other day and was pleasntly suprised, pours a deep ruby color with a very light head, aroma is of dried fruit and slightly burnt.Flavor is of caramelized sugar and caramel with a real nice light smokiness to it,the alcohol comes thru as it warms a little.A real good offering from Rock Bottem will get again.

Its clear, dark mahogany body appears almost black in the pint glass but reveals crimson glints from beneath a short head of creamy off-white foam that drops shortly, leaving very little lace behind. The nose delivers a light note of gentle fruit and some light caramelish malt. The body is firm, and its very fne and moderate carbonation leaves it somewhat creamy in the mouth. The flavor is far richer than the nose indicates with deeply caramelized sugars entwined in berry-like fruitiness and backed by a sublime bitterness. It's malty, but far more caramelish than grainy; and its high level of alcohol never shows. And despite its maltiness, it finishes dry with a short lingering note of malt. Really quite well-done and dead-on authentic. An impressive, highly drinkable beer that should not be missed.
