This is a special contract brew from Rock Bottom for Mother Hubbard's Sports bar on Hubbard St. in Chicago. Nice looking beer and I'm surprised to see a dunkelweizen. Dark cloudy chocolate color, decent sized head, served appropriately in a big weizen glass. Smell is weak, hint of wheat beer esters, touch of clove, some sweet malt. Taste is mellow too, kind of watery. Malts up front, faint hints of banana and other esters, finish is unique and kind of smoky. Yep a bit of smoke in here. Not bad for this difficult style and quite drinkable.
