At the Minneapolis downtown location. Light tan head. Caramel brown color. Caramel and Belgian yeast. Bready. Toffee. Sweet. Bananas.

Not really my style.

Had this with lunch at the RB Arrowhead in Glendale yesterday afternoon. $6 for a 13 oz goblet.

Beer was served amber with a nice white head.

Nose was classic Belgian yeast esters, primarily fruity notes.

Taste was classic Belgian, lighter fruits interlaced with a light malt backbone with enough hopping to keep the brew even keeled and very drinkable.

Feel was light to medium bodied and smooth.

Overall this was a nice brew. Don't see to many nice Belgian beers made here in the States!

Look: On tap at RB in Bethesda, described as a dry hopped, Belgian-style dark strong ale. Has a really nice black cherry coloring, like a deep ruby, minimal lacing.

Aroma: Cherry, Belgian yeast, hops, slight caramel, and citrus.

Taste: Belgian yeast, malt, black cherry, and classic dry hop characteristics.

Feel: Slightly astringent, overly yeasty and bitter aftertaste and mouthfeel.

Still a nice winter brew.

I had this on-tap in a goblet at the Rock Bottom in Seattle. They market it as a "Belgian Noël", so it's somewhere between a BSDA and a winter warmer.

Appearance: medium brown hue with moderate haze and a thin layer of light tan foam. I like it.

Smell: malty with a light sweet fruitiness and a little biscuit. Good, but the biscuit isn't to my taste.

Taste: sweetly malty with some light fruitiness and a definite toasty/biscuity character. Not as dark and dusty as I like my BSDAs, but good nonetheless.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a nice smooth creaminess. Great!

Overall: this isn't as deep and dark as I prefer in the style, but it is still a tasty and drinkable beer.

On tap. Poured an opaque, dark brown color with a very small, tan head. It smelled very malty. Not much else. Very sweet with caramel and toffee. Some spices, not much balance.

We don’t get to RB often, but I’m always pleased with everything. The foods good, not great, and same with the beer.

L (4) – Wicked Elf is a nice dark orange/amber color. Looks inviting enough.

S (4.25) – Definitely smell the hops. Doesn’t smell especially piney or citrusey, but good.

T (4.25) – This beer tastes pretty good. Not super malty, and not much spice going on. I get more of a piney hop taste compared to the citrus ones. A nice piney hop aftertaste too. I like.

F (4) – This type of beer doesn’t have a lot to say about mouthfeel IMO. It’s light, carbed right, and not overly anything. But that’s how I want this type of beer to be.

O (4.25) – Not sure how true to the style this beer was, but it was tasty. It isn’t high IBU and it isn’t high ABV. Just a nice, pleasant beer to have with dinner. Would drink again.

Not much if the "traditional" winter warmer. Kind of lacks any vanilla or spice notes. Kind of just a hoppy amber ale. Tasty in it's own right, just not what I expected.
