(Served in a chalice)
I just had this beer on tap yesterday 5.30.06 and it will be on tap for awhile.
A- This beer has a slight hazy deep orange body with a thin off-white film of a head that quickly fades to a ring around the rim. There is no lacing.
S- The soft notes of perfume have notes of hard candy with some sweet pale malt notes.
T- The soft sweet malt flavors have a bit of toasted malt and some notes of roses. There is a hint of sweet honey and a slight fusel alcohol taste at the finish.
M- The medium-light mouthfeel is finished with a tight fizz taste.
D- This beer has the sweetness and the alcohol but it is missing a lot of the complexity that I like in this style.

Served in a goblet as a dark amberish beer with virtually no head but a fine side lace like Tolkien elvish
Aroma is soft banana fosters with just a touch of pineapple and spiced alcohol.
Flavor is spiced pears and banana with a growing sense of spiciness on the front of the tongue. There is a surprising amount of sweetness left in the brew which mitigates some of the spiciness, but is followed by a long burn down the palate.
Overall a solid attempt at the style, but a little too heavy on the final approach for me to give top marks too.
