From a growler:
Deep black color, full opacity, with a roasty, toasty brown head, and a n over-population of bubbles about.
Aroma is rich with flavors of coffee, molasses, hints of spices, with an unexpected pine scent. Not as full in aroma as I'd like, but decent.
Falvor, smooth, mild, little hops, big malt, excellent balance, dry. medium bodied, with a silky, even oily texture, but it cannot be forgotten that this piney, even minty feel persists in the flavor, insists itself on the palate. Very odd. Not bad, just odd. Didn't ruin the drink, just caused me to scratch my head a bit.
