Had at the brewpub on 9/22/10. Reviewed from notes.
Poured a dark amber/orange with a thick finger-width creamy beige head on top. Great lacing. The nose was floral, citrusy, with notes of toffee and roasted malts. Moderately full mouth with good carbonation. Smooth finish. Decent bitterness, but not over the top. True to the English style. Good sweet balance with some toffee and graham. Chalky on the back end, which was a little distasteful. Decent enough beer. I could have a pint or two.

Poured a decent amber witha thin off white head that receded to a decent lace after a few minutes. Smell was hoppy but well balanced against the malted grain back. First impression was very smooth, not slick, just not overly thick going down. Nice carbonation and good hop profile, but a hop bomb this was not by any means. Overall a decent sessionable, albeit forgettable IPA.

From 2004 reviewed at wrong restaurant:
Copper colored ale with a pronounced hop aroma due to the time honored tradition of dry hopping. Single hop varietal beer that gets its flavor and aroma from domestic Fuggle hops. For a pale ale, not bad in appearance, mouthfeel, and drinkability. Never a true fan of an American IPA but better than most I've tried.

This is a varietal fuggle IPA.
Appearance: Hazy orange golden hues with a spumescent 1/2 " khaki head leaving impressive lace.
Aroma: Spicy orange citrus scents. Pungent fuggle profile and some sugary sweetness.
First swigs: Cedar and oak woodiness. Delicate orange citrus and hard candy lolipop malts balance.
Feel: Crisp profile with a medium body. Astringent mouthfeel with some pucker. Dry aftertaste.
Limited drinkability due to a focused tacky fuggle. Needs a spark or jumpstart hop to be better.
