tap at Pittsburgh location
Pours an opaque brown, very little light penetration, with a ring of yellowish white head.
Smells of caramel and molasses malts with hints of walnut and oak.
Flavor is of caramel, molasses, licorice, maple, and oak. Some hints of fig and walnut.
Medium syrupy body with stinging carbonation on the roof of the mouth.
Very tasty and satisfying ale. Not quite as potent as the flavors might indicate but still lots of flavor and aroma and it all balances pretty well. Definitely worth trying while it is around.
