Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager appearance. Some sweetness is the aroma. The taste is slightly bitter but acceptable for a pale lager.Has more hops than a typical lager. Hops more like a pale ale not the mild processed hops that you normally find in a lager or pilsner. Not bad, but not great.

A: inert; very thin head; no lacing; light yellow
S: beautiful smell--lemony and savory
T: light lemon, banana, very light bottle conditioning; taste lingers nicely; the light alcohol content is very detectable
M: ok feel, but provides no significant buzz
D: very drinkable

Pours a light golden yellow, minimal head. Scent is mild, fresh and dried grass, some metallic notes. Taste is also very light, same grassy flavors with some minor twangy off notes. Medium bodied and strangely creamy, very light carbonation. Part of a sampler, nothing i would seek out on its own.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the Rock Bottom in Bethesda, MD.

Pours a clear yellow straw color with some visible carbonation. Pretty billowy white head and some good lacing on the way down. The nose brings a bit of light grain along with some light hops. Taste is straw and grain; nothing else. Mouthfeel is light and a tad bit creamy. Nice and nothing artificial or addictive; drinks fairly well.

Light lager, 4.3% ABV according to the menu. This is yet another error for beers at this brewery. Light lager style. Beer served in a shaker pint. Beer is yellow and clear. Has a thin white head that break but manages to leave A LOT of lacing on the glass. Carbonation is moderate to low.

Aroma is almost non-existent. Unfortunate.

Beer has an interesting flavor. The first thing I detect is banana esters, strong fruity taste. The beer is really smooth and creamy but it has a slight graininess to it, almost an aftertaste that bites at the back of the mouth with some tannic bitterness.

A- Poured from the tap with a thin white head, which quickly evaporated, leaving little bits of lacing behind. The body was a well carbonated pale yellow... one of the palest looking beers I have ever seen.

S- smells of weak pale malts, and a trace of low alpha hops. Very weak nose.

T- Tastes like a macro light lager. Not bad, just not good. Pale malts and weak hops... that's about it. Underwhelming.

M- Thin like water, but it at least it has a nice soft carbonation going for it.

D- Drinkability is the one thing this beer has going for it. It goes down very smooth- just like water!

Rock Bottom's Lumpy Dog Light Lager
Loveland, Colorado

I am more into the darker beers and probably would not have ordered one of these had I not tried the sampler first. I was impressed...

At first I tried the 4 oz sampler, it was a little warm, but I could tell it would be a good one so I ordered up!

Not much of a head, but it had a unique color and the glass was ice cold making it look very good.
It smelled average but tasted good. It had a slightly malty flavor with a equally hoppy zing.
It went down smooth leaving a clean fresh taste.
I could have sat there and drank several more.

I heard the buzz on several of the other beers, but was not sold on the hype as much as this one.

Good session beer. Even at 4+%!

Cheers!!!

Off the tap at the brewery this beer was a crystal clear pale yellow color with a thin white head. Poor retention and lacing. The aroma was very muted, some yeast and pale malt. The flavors were better pronounced, but not much. Watery pilsner malt, hints of floral hops and that was it! The body was light, of course the mouthfeel watery, of course and the carbonation medium/high. Just another weak light beer.

(draft @ Rock Bottom Pittsburgh - Homestead, PA) Very pale yellow with a medium head and lots of bubbles. Light aroma, mostly hops. Initial taste was one of hops. Easy to drink, went down smooth, and left no aftertaste, mainly because of the thin body and watery consistency. Not a bad light beer however. This was the first of my tour of the Rock Bottom Brewery. I had to make it a two part tour or else I wouldn't be able to remember what I tasted.
