Poured a deep, deep brown, minimal head.Smelled of chocolate, some roasted malt. Taste was very, very smooth and good. GREAT! The finish is great too. Very smooth and it goes down so easy. Leaves you with a hint of roasted malt and chocolate. Best brew here besides the barleywine.

Appearance is an opaque, deep brown to black color with cocoa brown foam that lasts forever! This was the beer those I was with at the restaurant chose to get a pitcher of this selection for our session beer from the 8 we tasted. Aroma was sweet bread, chocolate and coffee. Initial taste is of semi-sweet chocolate and vanilla, nicely thick and chewy mouthfeel. Finish is perfect: delicious, clean, (with a delicate hint of peat) and begging you to refill your glass!
