Also known as naughty scots ale. This year's effort is listed at 5.5%abv
Poured caramel/chestnut with 1" of offwhite head. Good lacing & pretty good head retention
S: Sweet malt, caramel & a little smokeyness (more like beechwood than peat)
T: Sweet malt & caramel up front. A little chocolate & fruittyness sneaks as this warms. Finishes bready with caramel & chocolate
MF: Slightly overgassed with medium body. I expect a little more heft from this style
Drank pretty easy, not a bad beer, but after having the old thumper earlier this year, I know these guys can make a bigger beer. Think of this the tamer end of the spectrum for scottish ales

Aye, laddie! Nice beer! Appearance is a dark brown. Aroma is delicate with some bonny hops and malt, nicely balanced. Smooth initial taste of bread, scones and nuts is followed with a malty middle. The only wee flaw, I think, is the somewhat sharp carbonation. The finish is somewhat sweet, and pleasant. Very interesting. I would definitely try this again!
