Served in a large glass mug, the beer is a darkish copper with a chill haze. The head is light tan and the lace patterns are nice.

This beer has a big aroma for an APA. I get lots of citrus (grapefruit) and pine backed by fresh malts.

The taste is bitter in the best way. Citrus and pinesap backed by some sweet bready malts. I don’t know, but I’m guessing the IBUs are about 45. This beer coats your mouth. It never becomes cloying.

Nice sturdy mouth with excellent midlevel carbonation. This is a very easy drinker and the best beer I sampled at this Rock Bottom. Hats off to the brewer!

Poured a nice golden color with about an inch of head. Left lacing nearly clear down the glass.

Nice citrus aroma with an adequate malt presence. The flavor is that of a nice, sweet malt with a crisp hop bite. Really like the finish. Mouthfeel was a little weak, but that may have been due to the beer being in a growler for nearly a week. Plenty of effervescence though.

All and all, a very drinkable beer. I'll get a refill next time I'm in Lombard.

(Served in a tall mug)
This beer is now called Powerhouse Pale Ale and it weights in at 6.0%ABV. The chalkboard listed the style as American Strong Pale.

A- This beer has a very slight haze to a warm deep golden brown body with a creamy white head that last for a good bit. There is a good carbonation of bubbles.

S- This beer has a soft herbal green hops note that gets bolder as the beer warms.

T- This beer has a big juicy hop flavor with green and citrus notes to it. There is a nice bitterness in the finish that hangs a short bit after each sip. The taste of pineapple weed and gives more depth to the hops and there is a nice sweet pale malt flavor that really enhances hop punch. There is a light toasted malt note that comes through as it warms giving the malt some depth also.

M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with no alcohol heat or astringency.

D- This beer has some nice big hop flavors and some good support by the malt flavors. Very nice session beer even though it has big hops.
