on draft at brewery, consumed on 11/12/07.
Dark brown to black, no head, no active carbonation.
Aroma is totally coffee.
Flavor is likewise like drinking a cup of black coffee. So much coffee flavor, I expcted to find coffee grounds in my teeth.
Slightly astringent finish with... is that a hop flavor?
If this is perhaps inspired by Alesmith's Speedway Stout, then they need to drink some more inspiration.

This was the first Rock Bottom beer I've had before and it is awesome. I'll definitely have to go back before I leave Denver to go back home. The beer looks awesome. It pours jet black with a very thick off white head. The aroma is filled with good coffee aroma and some roasted character. It smells as if it's going to be bitter, but the taste is anything but. The flavor is extremely smooth with a bunch of coffee and lots of chocolate. The body is a bit light for a a stout in general and this one in particular, but it is so damn smooth and creamy that it still has good mouthfeel. This is a great beer with outstanding drinkability.
