a one-time release, at least the first i've seen of it here. hazy, bright apricot in color with a barely off-white head and lacing. dominant aroma is of ginger. not the pungent, bracing aroma of fresh ginger, but the softer and candied aroma of dried ginger. i love fresh ginger and would bet that they used dried ginger in this. some pale, sweet malts detectable underneath. taste is of the sweet malts with the powdered ginger mixed in. not enough hop bitterness in this for me, i expected more hops for an apa. had they used fresh ginger this would have been better balanced, but absent of this and of any significant hop presence this lacked balance. light, creamy mouthfeel. should pack more flavor for a 6.3% beer. basically a one-trick pony.
