a good beer if whisky barrel-aged dark beers are your thing. i believe this is the "argus india brown ale" aged in a whiskey barrel. a very dark brown/black in the glass with a small, creamy, tan head. smell is of whisky, dried dark fruit, molasess, toffee, cocoa, and more. complex aroma. taste is of sweet, dark malts with medium hop bitterness and some whisky and roasty notes balancing it out. this was aged in woodford reserve barrels for 14 months if i am correct. very light, creamy carbonation. much heavier mouthfeel than the abv suggests. long finish with a lot going on. drinks much bigger than it is, which is a good thing. this would be great with a meaty cigar on a cold night by the fire.
