Presentation: 12oz bottle for the 2001 Great Northeast Beer Competition in Providence, RI -- from the Braintree, MA Rock Bottom. I managed to hijack one.
Appearance: Deep blood pink with a think bubbly pink head that falls absolutely still.
Smell: Pepper, soft fruity berries, dentist-style toothpaste.
Taste: Yah! Tart! Like the tartest of tasts! Extremely citric with a sharp, bitter lime flavoured base that shoots up your nasal passage -- feel that bacterial lambic burn! Tart red raspberries dominate. Raw grass flavours. Some salt and white pepper. No malt characters are detected. After the shock subsides you find yourself reeling in puckering fit, only to notice that the experience is over and you're blessed by the beergods with a clean, slighty dry palate.
Notes: Not something to kick back and drink all day. Nice try at a fruit lambic though.
