A: Midnight black with a dense tan head that stays strong the whole way down the glass. Leaves occasional sheets of lace.
S: Espresso heavy, with a mild burnt charcoal aroma.
T: Starts out dry, and unfortunately a little thin. The espresso theme from the nose dominates out of the gate and is followed by a burnt bitterness that's more wood than charcoal. Finishes with a lingering bitterness that slowly fades.
M: Light body feels a bit on the watery side, but still manages to be creamy.
D: This is a really nice session stout. The light body makes it go down easily. I only wish that there was a touch more flavor going on.
