Our west coast style India Pale Ale screams hop flavour and aroma with an amazing candy-like oily balance. Delicious hop-forward notes of citrus, grapefruit pith and pine meld together as one with malty undertones finishing with a long, lingering draw. A fabulous pairing with all things spicy or cheesy, poultry or fish dishes.

On tap at the brewery, 2oz sample: Clear amber color. Flavors of grapefruits, pineapples, orange, sweet barley, and herbal hops. Smooth full body with good carbonation. Medium to strong strength leafy and piney finish. Overall good quality standard IPA that is more tropical but less the soapy murky/hazy type.

On-tap at Rockbottom.
Beer is amber in colour, with a moderately-sized beige head. Good retention.
Nice nose. Hops are the strongest element, with notes of citrus (grapefruit) and pine, but there is a strong caramel malt presence.
Things start to gall apart with the flavour. Too malty for the style, with a strong caramel flavour. The hops are clearly there, but not strong enough, and provide more simple bitterness than flavour. There is some pine and citrus, but it is malty and the malt is not very enjoyable.
Medium bodied, moderate to high carbonation. Tingly but still feels oddly lifeless.
Overall, unimpressive. The smell gave me hope but this beer was not something to go back for.
