I had this on-tap in a Pilsner glass at the Rock Bottom in Seattle.
Appearance: medium brown hue with no haze and a thick head of creamy tan foam. Very nice.
Smell: a great combination of smoky, sweet and fruity. Very good indeed.
Taste: smoky and fruity, with a definite banana character. A little bit sweet for my taste, but quite good nonetheless.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess. Entirely satisfying.
Overall: a bit sweet, but overall a very competent rauchbier. I dig it.

Went to Rock Bottom Chicago last Friday to celebrate my 30th birthday. Very happily surprised with the rauchbier they had on tap.
Very nice color, wonderful smoky bacon smell that proceeded right into the same flavor. blew me away. solid mouthfeel gives this beer an overall amazing rating. Picked up a growler to take home.

Drank at the bar on Thursday (1/28). Reviewed from detailed notes:
Chalkboard above bar noted a birthdate of 1-27-2010 (super fresh!) and an ABV of 5.3%.
Smoked beers always seem to have an interesting look and this successfully walks the line between light and dark. Liquid is lacy, a shade murky and altogether attractive.
God, I love this smell. First thing I catch is bacon, followed by bratwurst and a freshly lit cigar. It really makes me happy to know that there is a style of beer that smells and tastes like the foods I love to eat. The aromas are also quite authentic and never reek of synthetic chemical tampering. From look and scent, this one would make the Heller-Trum guys proud.
Taste is absolutely fantastic. This beer manages to pack mountains of smokey goodness, but with a nice amber sweetness that is wholly unexpected and absolutely delicious. These two contrasting flavors intermingling adds a nice balance, making for a delicious and complex beer that is easy to sip and fun to try to deconstruct.
Mouthfeel is clean, while still complex and mysterious. It captures the woody aspects of a smoker while still displaying a distinct lager angularity. Not to mention that it's still thoroughly refreshing.
This is definitely the MVP of Rock Bottom's beer list and I was so impressed and excited about this one. The brewmaster should definitely pat himself on the back and keep up the good work.

From a growler. Pours dark bronze, with a pure white head which fades while leaving a nice lace after each sip. Aroma is beechwood smoked with some sweet malt notes. Flavor tries to be a traditional rauch marzen, but is a little too roasty, and more importantly a bit cloyingly sweet. Still, this is a very nice beer. Tail is sweet and smoky, lingering quite a while. Smoke is up front, but restrained.
