I started off the cask festival with this one as it was the lightest in the room. Served from cask into 12 ounce glass, this was consumed on 03/27/2010.
The pour was alright, but noting really killing me here with the look. A dull orange color with a small head of white that quickly faded leaving nothing in its wake but a bare topped beer. Aroma was soo off, like soapy, almost like a cleaner, just odd. I was scared smelling this to be honest and did not know what was going to happen next. Thankfully the flavor was slightly better as some nice caramel malts played off the tart cherries giving it a bit of a bite but warming really brought out too much grain and drilled out the fruit leaving it rather bland in the finish and somewhat slippery. Could not be more then five percent as it went down quickly, but was forgotten just as fast.
Overall the least favorite of the day by a mile. Not really sure at all what was going on with this one but it was not good.
