Another in their recent series of specialty brews this big beer appears very cloudy and a rusty brown color with a so-so white ring cover and good lacing. The aroma is definite bourbon as advertised with charred hickory and vanilla malt. Not bad. The tastebuds pick up plenty more brandy and malt with a mild rye-like quality. It's a bit resinous with sugary cherry vanilla. Mild, tingly carbonation in a medium plus bodied brew. Not very drinkable in my view. Little or no hop presence and much too bourbon alcohol dominated. An interesting try but it becomes tiresome a bit quickly.
