On-tap at Rock Bottom Long Beach
A: The beer pours amber in color with an off-white head.
S: Fairly citrusy up front. However, the hops quickly fade away and the malt takes over. Toffee and caramel malt notes with a decent breadiness. Just a little bit of grass aroma in there as well.
T: Flavor starts off fairly hoppy, too. Orange and tangerine provide some nice citrus and there is a little bit of pine and grass. Toffee, bread, and caramel provide the sweetness, which is the bulk of the flavor of this beer.
M: Medium in body with a moderate level of carbonation.
O: Pretty good amber/red ale. Nice array of flavors and easy to drink.

on draft at brewery, consumed on 11/12/07.
Crystal clear golden brown with no active carbonation. Head is thin skin of foam.
No aroma to speak of.
Tingly mouthfeel, but only a little generic "malt" flavor and some sweetness.
No hops detected.
Disappointing. Glad it was only a taster glass.

Pours a clear red with a nice white head that stays through the entire sample. Malty, carmelly aroma. Taste is nice malts with a good amount of hops to balance. Medium bodied, with a nice citrusy hop finish. Very tasty - this would be my session beer if I came here on a regular basis.

A very red - Red Ale. I would say that it is a traditonal Irish Red in style. Strong flavors dominate this beer from beginning to end. Malt and Hops are evident, the former giving way to the latter. Good solid body that does not dissappoint. Smooth and highly quaffable, it goes well with most foods. One of my favourites at the Long Beach RBB outlet.
