On tap at RB in Bethesda, tapped on 12/17/15.
Look: Deep, ruby color (almost a slight brown tint to it), completely opaque. An interesting layer of small, bubbly foam forms after the initial pour but dissipates quickly; leaves some lacing.
Aroma: Like a red wine, with some cherry, dark fruit, and earthy notes added. Slight sweetness.
Taste: As a prior review has noted, this barleywine has a profile similar to a sherry but doesn't fully develop. Again, dark fruits and some booze are the primary focus.
Feel: Definitely a drinkable 9.9% (the BA profile states 9.5% but this RB has it differently). Somewhat flat without carbonation, but this is to be expected. Very slight bitter aftertaste and very dry.
Not a great barleywine, but it's good. I would rather have a "half-baked" barleywine over one without the correct profile any day.

2008 vintage on tap at a Rock bottom in Bethesda Maryland. Beer is amber and red with no bead no lacing no carbonation. It's basically still.
Sweet, plums, malty. Smells decent enough, but the volume is low.
Beer is thin and sweet with a slight alcohol bite. It's a bit liquor like almost like a sherry. It's not very flavorful for what it is. decently drinkable but you could have done something really special. As the beer warms slightly there is a build up of some bitterness in the back but it doesn't seem like hops to me, it's almost like a late dry astringency to the whole thing.
