Dark amber with reddish tones. Solid little capper. Lots of visible effervescence. 3.5
Cotton candy, bubble gum, artificial watermelon, strawberry, and light caramel in the nose. A little weird and sweet. 4.0
Brandied fruits, medicinal flavors (cough syrup?), strange orange flavor, fake chocolate, soap, amber lager, and booze. Terrible. Off-the-map and off-putting. 1.5
Thin for the style. Sharp carb. Boozy as hell. Rough. 2.0
Regrettable order at the bar. No-go. 2.0

This was Rockbottom's first tapping of 2011.
I am a fan of this Belgian style of beer and made sure I was here for this night.
Beer was served in a curvy, tulip style glass, in which you find many of Belgium's rose and kriek style beers.
The beer was a rich brown/amber color when poured and like most beers, at this particular brewery, served with no head.
I was unable to smell any distinct flavors and was not anything I was too familiar with, in this style of beer. First taste seemed a little watered down, but as it sat on the palate you notice a warm taste with some fruity and toasted notes. The beer went down very smooth and gentle, making it an extremely easy beer to consume all night. However, I suggest being cautious, despite it's easy drinkability the 7.5% ABV can you by surprise halfway through your second round.
Overall, despite the lack of smell and presentation/looks, the beer was alright and would order it again if available.

Beer served in a lofty becher tulip. Beer is ruby / brown with a slight haze and a thin haloed head.
Beer smells spicy / estery and strong.
Beer is quite estery, it dominates, there is almost a bubblegum flavor to the whole thing. It tastes OK, there is almost no bitterness but there is nothing special about it either. I wouldn't have ti again. The esters are pretty much the only thing that is going on in there.
