I felt like doing something a bit different so this looked like a good starting point.

My pint glass was filled with this ominous looking brew that was opaque with a hint of red-brown on the edges and a cap of lan foam, which dicipated to a thin ring quickly and left almost no lacing. The aroma was an intersting hop/malt mix which was more towards dark and deep hops. The flavor brings out the hops but has a somewhat confusing blend that I would describe as deep woody with a blend of various citrus. The body seems a heavy-medium. The finish is a touch dry picking up where the low carbonation leaves off.

I had two sips of the sample and decided to get a glass. This rarely happens where I make a pick from the menu so fast. Come grab a pint before I finish it all off.

Opaque dark chocolate brown topped with a thick slice of golden foam. Crown descent eventually resulted in extensive sheets of filmy lace that became splendidly shredded sheets in time. Good looking beer...

... and great smelling beer. It's impossible to go wrong with such killer-diller hops as Simcoe, Centennial, Amarillo and Chinook. The little green cones far outpaced the chocolate in the nose, which is fine by this hophead (and fine for the style).

Even though slightly more dark malt flavor was apparent on the palate, lupulins were still large and in charge. Each mouthful was a fascinating three-humped camel from start to finish. First, big blast of grapefruit, pineapple and orange. Next, the cocoa vibe of the malts surged forward to engage the citrus zest. Finally, a lingering resinousness that gave the beer a tight, focused finish.

The mouthfeel more than held its own. It was medium for the style and had a silky smooth sparkliness that was enjoyable. That's what dialed-in carbonation will do for you. No chink in the armor here.

Nadir India Black Ale is pretty close to the best IBA that has ever entered my glass. Eric is a master at coming up with great names for his beer, but Acme India Black Ale seems the better choice in this particular case.
