I never even knew Rock Bottom bottled until I went there here recently and bought this bomber from the Arlington, VA location.
A: This poured a deep, dark, ruby red, with maybe a slight bit of haze, but not much. The almond head was about 2 fingers worth, give or take.
S: I got more melted cherry popsicle than anything, with maybe a hint of rich, caramely maltiness.
T: I got a tremendous booze bill on this thing that was really tough to ignore. It didn't really taste like anything actually. Very bitter all around, with booze winning out over the intense sugar by a nose. Not pleasant.
M: This was creamy, thick, and carbonated enough for my taste, but it was almost as if it the hops were allow to steep for about a year or so.... bitter, bitter, BITTER! The lacing was substantial as well as the sugar lingering on the palate.
O: The taste on this one was way off and the bottle was hard to finish. I will not repeat.

Deep red to mahogany in color; dense, foamy, tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aromas of citrus and floral hops. Some earthy, sweet malts. Overall thought the aroma is a bit muted and indistinct. It is packed with fruit flavors - citrus, tropical fruit, berries. Some caramel malt underlying. No hint of the rather high ABV. Creamy, smooth mouthfeel. Definitely on the sweet side but it is a well balanced beer.
