On tap at the brewery, 2oz sample: Clear amber color. Flavors of nutmeg, caramel, spices, barley, and herbal hops. Slick and smooth body with moderate carbonation. Light strength finish, grainy with shy red ale spices. Traditional and basic take of the style. Overall above average quality craft.

On tap at Lombard IL location.
Color was deep red, nice white head which laced nicely.
Smell wasn't that impressive but sweet and malty.
Taste wasn't bad, but not great either. Sweet. Slightly bitter on the end. Not much there, easy to drink.
Overall an alright beer, nothing to write home about. I'd try more from Rock Bottom, but I won't go for the Irish Red again.

Review number 3000. Go figure. Drank alot of amazing beers over the years and for the last couple days really had not had anything as i kept thinking what could i have for my 3000th beer? nearly impossible for me to make the decision, taking the kids to charlotte for the day the decision was made for me. leaving the museum we run into pouring rain and honestly without looking just ran into rock bottom. looking up a big sign for the irish red looks at me and my decision is made.
the pour was a nice amber red color, lots of caramel tones to it and a nice and well balanced head of off white that seemed to stop around a quarter inch from the top of the glass. light lacing rings the outside as it settles down.
aroma is light, caramel and earthy hops. nice malty profile and smooth feel on here. nice really light and not heavy, it has a well put together balance that really seems to increase its drinkability.
overall while not a stunning, stellar beer it did its job and while others might go for a super rare whale to mark a milestone, this is much more indicative of how craft beer works. a solid beer that was there at a time when one was needed. cheers to 4000!

This is not retired, it's a Seasonal, fresh at the brewpub for St Patty season. Floral hoppy, good and dry, with pronounced bitterness. Reddish, then Very lacy. An average beer but certainly Decent for its style. More of an American red ale. 3.8% alcohol by volume.

In honor of St. Patricks Day, the brewpub was offering this selection.
The beer was a nice reddish-brown with an off white head.
The aroma was of slightly smoked malts and some clear hop/citrus notes.
The taste was more hopy than I expected and I really liked that. The malts were clearly evident as the beer has a slightly sweet taste, but the hops added a nice complimentary bite. As the beer warmed, I swear I picked up a kind of smoky flavor in the background.
Easy drinking session type beer with a nice crisp mouth.. All-in- all, an enjoyable beer
