A- Pours a medium brown with a two finger nitro foam fine bubbled eggshell head. Long lasting and lots of lacing.
S- Smell is toasty, a touch of caramel, and a bit of that traditional Scottish smokyness, although I'd like that to be more pronounced.
T- That smoky character is a touch more pronounced here, but mostly holds itself to the finish. At first it seems more like an American amber with a lightly sweet toasted character. Finish is smoky with a pleasing earthy character.
M- Too light for the style. Needs to have substantive body, and this doesn't have it. Medium carbonation.
O- I like seeing breweries take a stab at this style but this was just a bit too mild on all fronts for me. Still, good effort.
