Murky orangey red with small wispy tan head. No lace. Low retention.
Smells of spicy hops. Some floral hop notes too and light malts.
I taste some light toasted malts, a touch of sweetness (not enough?!) and a chalky finish. Spicy and floral hops give off a very mild bitterness.
The body isn't bad. This is actually the eat aspect of this beer. The chalky, mineral water residue feel does hurt a bit.
Overall-- meh. They were out of the "double down DIPA," and this was suggested as a substitute... This wasn't terrible, but it really didn't impress me.
