General: Rock Bottom is a micro-brewery that has (to my knowledge) brew only available on tap and "to-go" growlers. This particular review is for the "White Tiger Wheat". It should be known that the White Tiger is a Cincinnati item. This brew's name is a take-off of this connection.

Appearance: This brew taps with a traditional light honey hue. Cloudiness is high, however not abnormal for a wheat beer. Head is superiour in depth and thickness. Lacing is extrordinary. This is truely a photographic selection.

Smell: True to style, the wheat and citrus presence blooms. While the overall body is a little light, the overall aroma is quite pleasant. This is a quinticential wheat beer. My only suggestion would be to raise the aroma volume.

Taste: Wheaty sharpness jumps out. I have tried this selection with and without a lemon...while most experienced drinkers will frown on a lemon, I like the addition. At the bar, a lemon twist was added with a quick request...no problems. The overall "American Wheat Beer" style is evident in this brew.

Mouthfeel: Ok...do I have any complaints at all about this selection? Nope...and the mouthfeel is also excellent. The flavor curve is tapered and subdued. Taste has multiple subtle actions occuring on the palate. I HIGHLY recommend this selection as a session choice or as a great option for "select brew" for experienced drinker guests during a back yard grill out.

Drinkability: Very high drinkability. Not much to say here. This is a wheat beer,so it is a little heavy on the stomache. However, this particular selection, for it's style, is very smooth and light. I recommend this brew. The only unfortunate thing is that the availability is very low.

If you have a chance, jump on it a pint, or better yet get a growler to go.

Prosit!

Pours a opaque light yellow in color with a nice head on top. Smell is wheat with some nice lemon zest coming through as well. Taste is much the same, and I have to say the lemon flavor is the only thing saving this beer and makes it drinkable. Decent, but needs a fuller mouthfeel.

Nice looking cloudy yellowish orange wheat beer, pours with a nice head that has staying power and produces a nice lacing down the glass. Very light crisp lemony taste with a light but nice body on the palate, but very little flavor on the finish. This is rather drinkable, and a good summer beer. The flavor is more subdued and the overall body not as robust as I prefer in a wheat beer.

Appearance - the first of three beers sampled from the Cincinnati Rock Bottom on Feb 5th prior to the Jonny Lang concert. This was delivered with a small head that hangs on throughout. Cloudy and lemony looking with agate lacing

Aroma - initially yeasty and fruity, but diminishes to a minimal level, kind of disappointing.

Taste - nice balance of yeast, clove and spice. Great hop level provides very good balance. Some non-sweet orange notes. Finishes slightly sour.

Mouthfeel - smooth drinking, light with a fruity residue. Perhaps the best portion of the profile.

Drinkability - goes down quick and smooth, I would drink these all night if I wasn't planning on reviewing a few more...

Tasted at the Cincinnati location as "White Tiger Wheat" (probably known as 5 other names across the country for the same beer). Murky yellow with a thin white head and thin lacing. Very light wheat aroma. Not much taste up front but there is a decent wheaty aftertaste. Still I would not bother getting this again.

Poured a cloudy yellow with a white head. The head had good retention. Plenty of hops and a nice creamy body. This is a very full bodied pale ale that laces well for the entire glass. The smell was also quite hoppy but also had some malt sense. This is one of the most popular styles at the Cincinnati location.
