Very pleased to see this on the menu as I love a good rauchbier.
Served in a nonic, the body is a deep amber color and the head is a dense layer of creamy soft foam that could be cut with a knife. Plenty of sticky lacing.
Smells lightly smokey with some malt sweetness.
Awesome rauch flavor. Lots of smoked wood with notes of bacon and plenty of sweetness coming from the malt. The beautiful combo of sweet and smokey.
Very well done feel from the casking process. Soft and velvety smooth. Pretty dry feel from the smoked malt.
Really enjoyed this beer. Not sure if this was a hybrid bock/rauchbier, but it was both smokey and sweet and so, so flavorful. Had two of these and would love to have it again.
