P: On cask in to a 22 fl oz mug
A: SRM is deep carmel/toffee. Clear filtered. Head is light tan, semi-puffy, 1 in, dissipates to 1/2 in. Medium carbonation. Medium lacing.
S: Medium roast malt with earthy pepper notes. A touch of sweetness as well as a bit of peppery spice.
T: Initial palate is a lightly sweet maltiness, but is immediately followed by natural pepper flavors. A touch of heat, more of light white pepper than chili pepper, is discernable. Cask aging is noticable through mild wood notes. Aftertaste is light malt with touches of both sweet and spicy compoents.
M: Medium body. Fantastic harmony of ingredients. Maltiness and sweetness of the Naughty Scot comes through with flawless additions of chili pepper, all married together by the casking process. Finishes creamy with a bit of zing from the pepper.
O: The only thing I don't like about this beer is that I just drank the last of the current batch. This beer has such depth of flavor and incorporates the featured ingredient (seems to be a varietal of aji pepper) so thoughtfully into the original recipe that it is easily one of the tastiest beers I have ever had. Liz, please make more...
