Draft poured into a nonic pint glass
A: Pours a cloudy orange copper color with a thin head of tight, slightly off-white bubbles. I assumed the espresso would tint the IPA black or possibly even brown, but not so much.
S: Aroma is a combination of bitter, almost spicy, coffee bean and soft earthy hops. It’s unexpected, but welcome.
T/M: Flavor is much hoppier than the aroma lets on with mostly earthy qualities and some citrus and herbal notes on the back end. Robust coffee bean follows the hops this time but it’s still a bitter, complex coffee profile and rather incredible. The espresso makes this one.
