called "dark horse" mild at Westminster, CO location, beautiful from the nitro tap. rich deep copper color, maybe even darker, brown with a red tint, creamy as a milkshake, and a nice inch of thick fluff when it settles out. the nose is roasty malt with some chocolate in there, bitter dark bakers cocoa. its an English style, but there is an American assertiveness to this that I quite like. the malt is intensely flavored but somehow light in feel, and the finish is mildly bitter with that hint of burnt sugar and raw chocolate. the big flavors with the light creamy nitro feel is a great combination. low alcohol makes this an all day drinker, and one id like to see in the regular rotation at rock bottom. this beer to me is the perfect illustration of the dark mild style, and I am already looking forward to having another one next sunday on our weekly post-hockey trip to rock bottom. good stuff.

I was glad to see the Dark Mild on cask. It was served in a mug club mug…. The beer is brown with amber highlights. It has a creamy light brown head.
It has a nose of lightly roasted malts and a bit of plum.
Like advertised, it is mild with a light roast on the grains, a smidgen of raisin and a touch of floral hops. It is a touch sweet and thins as it warms.
The mouth is silky and soft with low carbonation.
I like this style but I never seem to have more than one at a time.
