On tap at the brewery. Aged about 6 months in Bourbon barrels, unknown distillery.
Black, opaque, no head. Smells of wood, some raisin, some burnt toast, and a little pepperoni (?!). Flavor is alcohol, licorice, a little bit of soil and rather bitter. Not really getting any of the barrel, no vanilla, no bourbon, nothing satisfying. Thin on water with low carb and a dry finish. Well, guess this means regardless of barrel, some beer sucks.
