Very dark brown with some red in it. One inch tan head, a bit of lace.
Roasted malt aroma, a little coffee.
Espresso taste that lingers. A hint of chocolate.
Medium-bodied.

On tap at the Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant - McLean (Tysons Corner), listed at ABV=5.75% & IBU=30, pours a clear dark brown with a khaki head that dissipated slowly. Aromas of malt and perhaps chocolate. Flavor is very malt-forward with some complexities of toffee and cocoa; there is a hops bitterness at the back end. Carbonation is average. Mouth-feel is solid with a "sustain" in the flavors.
