Gordon Biersch Light brewed by Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, with an ABV under 5.0% This brew pours out a light brown/ deep amber, with a smell white head. The smell of Gordon Biersch Light rich with grains and malts. There is also a nice hit of hops and sweetness. Now for the taste is nice with malts. This brew by the way has been aged for awhile now. Not saying that is a bad thing. I feel the age has messed with the flavor of this brew.
I wish I could have had this brew when it was fresh.
Overall I'm giving this brew a 3 out of 5.

12 ounce bottle purchased in a six pack from Ralph's in El Segundo
Poured into a mug with a pale golden color and a weak white soapy head that settled almost immediately, left no lacing
Smell was some faint hops, a fair amount of skunkiness that got more potent as the beer got warmer
Taste was one of the more flavorful light beers I have had still definitely lacking something, could taste a small amount of bananas, orange peel, and different spices, which was odd because it was a lager but a nice surprise at the same time, the citrus part of this beer saved it from getting a bad rating because it gave the lager an actual flavor, other than that, it was pretty generic
Could drink a lot of these because the ABV is so low and it is extremely light on the stomach, if I were to buy "light" beer which I never do, this would be probably be near the top of my list

At trader Joe's today I grabbed a single of this for two reasons:
1. I haven't tried it yet
2. I've been on a smaller beer kick lately and would like to find a good light beer.
Poured into a pils glass it barely forms a head that is gone within seconds and just a tiny ring of white remains around the edge. Yellow brew with mild carbonation slowly rolling to the top.
Smell is kinda husky and grain laden. A raw, earthy grain bill clashes with a semi sweet malted backer and creates a rather adjunct and forcefull tasting lager. I'm looking for two things from a light beer: 1. make it so you don't have to think about it and it just goes down easy and refreshing or the better option 2. Give it something that is interesting and not a big clash of crud. Now I'm not a brewer and I don't know how to do this but this is not it.
Notes: I'm starting to think that bud light and the like have the light lager market just right. Maybe the style just can't be made all that interesting. I will continue this search but for now this GB offering is 1 and done.

Golden, straw colored light beer, with a thin white head. Malty nose with a hint of hops, which transfers to the flavor. Smell is not overwhelming, but not unpleasant, either. Nice, bubbly mouthfeel, and pleasant on the tongue with a little hoppy finish.
Not as sweet as some light lagers, which is a good thing. Nice balance of malted barley and Bavarian hops makes for an easily drinkable beer - this from a fan of double IPAs!

A: Vibrant golden color, clear and clean. Loads of bubbles are streaming from the bottom to the top. Head is snow white made up of medium sized bubbles.
S: Lightly malty, touch sour and acidic with minor hops.
T: Yellow corn, stoned wheat crackers, bit of honey. Finishes grainy with a mild green apple fruitiness.
M: Light body with decent mouthfeel.
D: Well, it is a light beer so lets take this with a grain of salt. Don't expect the world and I suppose you won't be disappointed too much. IMO better light beers on the market.

Pours out to a straw, yellow color with a head that subsides rather quickly. The smell is of bread and hops, very faint. The smell is rather nice.
The taste is quite light, with the taste of bread coming through. The hops taste really doesn't provide too much of a presence to even out the alcohol aftertaste.
The mouthfeel is also rather thin and bland, with very little in the way of carbonation.
In the end, this is a decently drinkable beer, especially for a light beer such as this.

Unfiltered amber with the occasional speedy bubble racing up to the 'great for a light lager' head. The semi-stiff foam is dull eggshell in color, lasts beyond all expectations and manages to show a little character as it departs. A small amount of sudsy lace is the extent of things.
The aroma is just okay. I don't remember being able to distinguish between a light lager nose and a macro lager nose... and can't in this case either. Grain is front-to-back and side-to-side, and there may be a touch of floral hoppiness as well.
GBL is okay stuff given the style. I've certainly had non-light lagers that weren't as palatable. That isn't to say that it's good beer or that I want to have another, but it's drinkable for what it is. Again, (not very fresh tasting) grain dominates, with a little more sweetness than is usually present in beer of this style. Hops? No, not really.
The mouthfeel is a fraction more full than is usual. It's along the lines of a macro lager, and is even a smidgen bigger than many of those. A lack of spritzy carbonation is also a plus. The absence of any real flavor nastiness is a good thing since the mouthfeel actually permits some amount of flavor linger.
Concentrating on the positives, Gordon Biersch Light has more flavor, fewer off-flavors and more body that the vast majority of light lagers. However, that isn't enough to make a repeat customer out of me since I generally avoid light beer unless there are no other options. Other than Sam Adams Light, this is one of the better low-cal versions that I can remember drinking.

I got six of these as part of a G-B "sampler case" at Costco. The other beers are all good, but this one's a loser: urine yellow, with a "cardboardy" taste and no head to speak of. Why, oh why. do breweries always include their light beer in sampler packs? It's almost always their worst product, and this one is no exception.

12 oz brown bottle, bottled on August 17th, 2005, served in a Stein.
Pours a semi-dark straw color, slightly darker and more appealing than other lights Ive had. Thick frothy head, when poured aggressively, but it dissipates quickly. Doesn't leave much in the way of lace. Not bad looking though...
Smells of butter and a little bit of metal. Not unpleasant, but nothing to excite.
Taste was to the smell. A little buttery, mildly sweet with no bitterness at all. It has a pleasing mouthfeel, somewhat thick, more so than most other light beers. Carbonation fizzez away quickly, though, making the texture less than exciting.
This is the only light beer Ive had that Ive actually mildly enjoyed. It is very easy to down several in a row. I would imagine this would make drinking with my light beer only friends more enjoyable.

Pours straw gold, crystal clear. A dense, two finger head retains some foam to the end and laces well on the glass. Smells of floral hops and a faint grain or cereal malt. The taste is generic, but well balanced for a light lager; mildly sweet pale malt that is followed by a low hop presence to dry any aftertaste. It also has a classic light lager body; light and well carbonated to produce a smooth mouthfeel that finishes clean. An excellent light lager style beer.

Sample (thank goodness) at the brewpub. Clear pale golden color with a thin white head that disappears rapidly. Lacing is not present. Faint floral hops aroma. Light-bodied and pretty much flavorless. There is a tiny bit of grain and hops but that is it. The finish is short which is good because the aftertaste is somehow unpleasantly sweet-n-sour. I wont be bothering with this again.

Very pale yellow with a low white head and decent carbonation. VERY light grain malt aroma and flavor -- almost devoid of flavor but a light cooked-corn aftertaste; very light hop aroma at first with a vigorous pour ... Very light bodied with a dry finish.
Not memorable in any way and not even mentioned on the GB website... Don't bother.
