The stange was filled with a deep garnet lager that had a minimal head which quickly reduced itself to a collar of bone white bubbles. There was no lacing. The smell is of wonderful sweet malt, with mild hops settling into the background. There are hints of chocolate and vanilla as well. The taste is well balanced between the rich caramel accented malts and gentle hops that provide ample contrast without dominating. The mouthfeel is big and smooth, a tad creamy. The alcohol is barely noticeable. A wonderful rendition.
